My friend Kerstin loves England and the British culture, so she decided to move from Germany to London. She knew which culture she feels attracted to, which language she would love to speak daily and what lifestyle she preferred.

She made up her mind. She put her head down to research, network, and job search. She found a job and a boss that fit her interest and style of working.

Ten years later she moved from London to Barcelona, still with the same boss, but working remote from a sunnier country with fewer hours and a much-desired Mediterranean lifestyle.

Ideas for a lifestyle can change.

And you can change your life and location so it fits your lifestyle.

It’s 2022 and thanks to digital and interconnectedness it has gotten “easy” to move as we wish.

The bigger question behind that is: are you aware of what lifestyle you want to live that fulfills you?

Do you have an understanding of your vision and values?

You don’t want to regret later in life that you at least didn’t try.

When you are aware of what brings joy and beauty to your life, life can unfold effortlessly.

The limits you create are self-imposed

Are you aware of what kind of lifestyle you actually value and appreciate?

Who or what do you use as an “excuse” to not be able to move?

We tend to find excuses when we are not ready yet to do whatever we told ourselves what we want to do.

This California native moved to her dream place 38 years after she first experienced the northern part of Italy as a young woman and had promised herself to make Italy her home one day. Holly Herrmann gives the advice “to do a test run to see if you’re suitable for this kind of life and see if it makes you happy or uncomfortable.”
